Celebrating the recipients of the 2023-2024 Shell NXplorers Global Inspiration Awards that took place on 4th December 2024.
The Shell NXplorers programme engaged over 120,000 students in 2023, showcasing the significant impact and commitment of our global community. Teachers, mentors, programme leads, facilitators and delivery partners play a vital role in the programme’s ongoing success, alongside the students at the core. The annual Shell NXplorers Global Inspiration Awards is an important opportunity to celebrate those who are helping create such a positive impact across the world.
The awards ceremony was a truly inspiring event, honouring the exceptional contributions across the Shell NXplorers community and celebrating the power of collaboration and creativity.

Firstly, we celebrated the outstanding dedication, creativity and leadership of our inspiring NXplorers mentors across the programme. Their passion, real-world expertise, and remarkable contributions have been instrumental in shaping the success of the NXplorers programme and empowering the next generation of innovators.
Our 2023-2024 MOST INSPIRING MENTOR award recipients are:
Congratulations to Gold award winner Ho Yee Mei, who has demonstrated immense passion in providing the mentorship that the students need. Her ability to apply real-life experience to ensure her students gain valuable insights is truly inspirational.

Congratulations to Gold award winner André Luiz, who has been an inspiring facilitator and worked hard to keep his students united through difficult circumstances. He made a huge impact by creating an environment where students feel comfortable and confident.

The student project entries have been developed with incredible innovation and originality, backed by in-depth research and excellent implementation of NXthinking. Each showcased creativity and problem-solving skills, making a real, positive impact through the programme. In this category, we celebrated those that pushed the limits to design unique, impactful solutions.
Our 2023-2024 EXCEPTIONAL STUDENT PROJECT award recipients are:
Congratulations to Gold award winning project Aqua Filter, a solution that addresses the complex issue of air pollution and contributes to water conservation and agricultural development. Their brilliant prototype highlighted the level of research they had conducted to develop a deep understanding of the interconnectedness of environmental challenges.

Their ability to come together, tackle challenges and develop innovative solutions has been truly impressive.
Our 2023-2024 OUTSTANDING STUDENT TEAM award recipients are:
Congratulations to Gold award winning team Sonogong, who showed incredible collaboration, communication and teamwork skills. They developed a mobile app that helps people monitor their electricity usage and costs. The team showed amazing community engagement and involved local stakeholders and energy consumers in the development of their project.
