Future-ready thinking: Celebrating Shell NXplorers Qatar 2025

The NXplorers Qatar 2025 finale brought together the next generation of leaders from across the country to celebrate a season of innovation and critical thinking. Hosted at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education headquarters, the closing ceremony marked the end of a year-long educational journey that’s helping shape the problem-solvers of tomorrow.

Over the year, almost 600 students from 19 preparatory schools took part in the programme, supported by 44 teachers who guided them through workshops and project development. Together, they explored big challenges through the NXplorers framework: using systems thinking, scenario planning and strategic innovation to bring their ideas to life.

The finale celebrated student-led innovation, with teams presenting solutions to real-world local challenges. At the event, Saoud Al-Muraikhi, Saif Al-Mohannadi, Fahad Al-Kuwari, Khalid Al-Yafei and Sultan Al-Mutaw from Qatar Leadership Academy were announced as the Gold Winners for their inventive project, which transforms food waste into organic compost and eco-friendly soap.

The event continued to announce teams from the International School for Medical Science and Engineering (Carbon Crafts System) and Ali Bin Abi Taleb School for Boys (SREA App) as Silver Winners for their projects. Then, the Bronze Winners were announced as Ghirnatah Preparatory School for Girls (Home Urine Test Device), Cambridge International School for Boys (Sustainable Bus) and Al Wajbah Preparatory School for Girls (Cooling Suit for Workers).

Finally, there were special recognitions for Abdul Latif Mashhoor (Best Male Facilitator), Ward Al-Rubaie (Best Female Facilitator), Ahmed Nabil (Best Male Teacher) and Sahar Fahmi (Best Female Teacher).
