Shell Vietnam has seen collaboration with Vietnamese STEM students for over ten years, challenging them to design, build and operate energy-efficient vehicles in the Shell Eco-marathon competition to help shape a lower carbon future for all. Building on this collaboration, in 2022, Shell NXplorers Pro has officially launched in Vietnam.

With a focus on sustainability issues and underpinned by a unique combination of methodologies called NXthinking, Shell NXplorers Pro will empower young Vietnamese talent to continue to explore local or global real-world problems – and equip them to do something about them.

The inaugural workshop took place at Lạc Hồng University in Đồng Nai Province as the first cohort of students from Vietnam started their NXplorers journey. They were excited but nervous as they embarked on the concepts that were new to them like the Big Picture, Connections, and Perspectives, and taking on challenges of their choice. By the end of the workshops, students were confidently presenting their ideas for change to the group.

The programme has been rolled out across several universities, with over 200 students having participated already. Early next year, selected students will get to pitch their ideas and plans to senior stakeholders in a celebration event.
