Recently, students from various high schools in Qatar gathered to present their remarkable NXplorers projects during the NXplorers Closing Awards Ceremony. The ceremony celebrated the achievements of the students, teachers, ambassadors and to announce the top winning teams of the NXplorers competition.
Projects showcased at the awards ceremony included a device for monitoring and improving plant growth, a capsule that improves drinking water and a project that uses cow manure as an energy source.
With the participation of 520 students, 21 teachers, and representatives from 12 preparatory schools across Qatar, along with one university, this year's programme proved to be a resounding success. Through a series of 25 workshops, students collaborated in teams, utilising the power of NXthinking to delve into critical societal issues and propose effective solutions.
NXplorers was recently awarded Best CSR Initiative in the Energy Sector at the Qatar CSR Awards 2023.
This recognition highlights the impact the programme has had in the four years since launching in Qatar. It is a testament to the students, teachers, Shell staff and partners including the Qatar Scientific Club, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, and Ibtechar - for their dedication in making the programme a resounding success.
