It’s been another successful year for the NXplorers programme in Australia, which reached more students in 2021 than any other year. The year culminated with three formal showcase events to celebrate the 15 school groups who took part, allowing students to present their innovative projects to their peers and families.
The events were organised by NXplorers delivery partner Scitech, who hosted two of the events at their Scitech Science Centre in Perth and a third event at Broome Senior High School. Students enjoyed being able to meet again and share their projects with each other, as well as with their facilitators and families who got to celebrate their hard work with them.
“My favourite thing about the programme was getting to make a change and being encouraged to take action because it made me feel empowered” NXplorers student,Broome Senior High School
“The students really enjoyed the showcase. There were a number of kids who you could never get to speak in front of people before and who I saw on the showcase day explaining their projects, chatting to other students that were coming past or other parents and community members.” Teacher, Perth
The Australia team aims to reach at least 15 school groups again this year, with workshops starting again in February 2022.
