NXplorers students shine in India's STEM landscape

NXplorers participants in India are no strangers to STEM competitions. Recently, two projects stood out from the rest for their ingenuity and innovation.

The 'Crop Monitoring System' project, developed by students from GHS Yantaganahalli, Karnataka, aims to streamline agricultural tasks and promote robust crop growth within the STEM framework. Students integrated smoke detectors on farms to promptly detect fires and enhance farm safety, thus, enabling and empowering farmers to take immediate and efficient measures to safeguard their crops and property.

The students secured the 3rd prize at the Taluk Level Science Exhibition organised by DSERT – Department of State Educational Research and Training, Bangalore. Furthermore, they showcased their project at the Southern Science Exhibition 2024 in Andhra Pradesh, garnering attention from the local newspaper in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.

Another noteworthy STEM endevour, called ‘Proxy Fertilizer’ hails from Delhi. This innovative project is dedicated to the creation of an organic fertilizer through the utilization of a specialized device. Functioning as an invaluable tool, this device facilitates the transformation of organic waste, such as orange peels, into fertilizer, guided by specific input ratios provided by individuals. Notably, Proxy Fertilizer clinched the esteemed 3rd prize at the Zonal Level Senior Science Exhibition organized by the Directorate of Education, Government of NICT, in New Delhi.

There was a plethora of other esteemed competitions, including the INSPIRE awards and various STEM competitions hosted by colleges and universities, that provided students further avenues for recognition and advancement in this dynamic field.
